Touch Brain Play Centre: A Screen-Free, Neurodiverse-Friendly Afterschool Program

At Touch Brain Counselor Mental Health Clinic, we know how challenging it can be for families to balance technology, school demands, and healthy social development. Children and teens today are spending more time on screens than ever before, often at the expense of creativity, relationships, and emotional well-being. That’s why we’ve created the Touch Brain Play Centre — a specialized afterschool program designed to help kids unplug, connect, and thrive.

The Play Centre is more than just a safe space after school. It is a screen-free environment where kids can explore art, play, and imagination while developing the skills they need for lifelong resilience. Through hands-on creative projects, movement-based activities, and guided social play, children have the chance to step away from devices and rediscover the power of real-world connections.

As a mental health clinic staffed by Registered Clinical Counselors, Touch Brain offers something unique: every aspect of the Play Centre is informed by expertise in child development and therapy. Our team specializes in neurofeedback, art therapy, and play therapy, which means children not only have fun but also benefit from approaches designed to support emotional regulation, creativity, and growth. Whether it’s through expressive art projects, guided cooperative games, or therapeutic play, every activity is carefully crafted to foster healthy development.

The Play Centre is also proudly neurodiverse-friendly. We welcome children and teens with autism, ADD, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences, creating a supportive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and included. Our counselors are trained to provide individualized support, helping kids strengthen social skills, build self-esteem, and gain confidence in their ability to navigate group settings.

Beyond neurodiversity, we also provide guidance for children facing behavioral challenges, screen overuse, and gaming addictions. In today’s digital age, many families are looking for healthy alternatives to excessive screen time. By offering structured activities and therapeutic strategies, the Play Centre helps youth learn balance, improve focus, and discover new ways to channel their energy.

Parents can trust that their children are not only cared for but supported by professionals who understand the intersection of play, creativity, and mental health. Our mission is to create a space where kids can laugh, create, explore, and build friendships — all while developing critical life skills that support their well-being.

✨ The Touch Brain Play Centre isn’t just afterschool care. It’s where mental health expertise meets creativity, connection, and fun. It’s a place for children of all abilities to learn, grow, and thrive.
